The new focus on sustainability

Earlier this year, the Minister of Environment and Climate change published a draft 2016-2019 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (http://www.fsds-sfdd.ca/index.html#/en), and initiated a 120 period for submission of comments from the public. The Minister is asking us to articulate our vision for a sustainable Canada, to identify what we value most, what is most pressing, and how can a federal strategy help?

As we move forward with plans to limit greenhouse gas emissions, to sequester carbon, and to proactively prepare for a changing future, enhancing resilience and moving ever closer to sustainability should be a primary goal of all projects and initiatives to which landscape architects contribute.
